What We Do
We are Here to Help Your Child get the Oral Care they Need.
Dental Cleaning & Exam
The American Dental Association recommends that your child visit the dentist every six months to ensure his or her teeth stay healthy and their smile stays beautiful. At these appointments your child will have their teeth cleaned by one of our highly trained dental assistants in which their teeth will be polished and flossed as well as receive an application of fluoride varnish. Dr. Beth or Dr. Erik will then thoroughly examine your child’s gums and teeth looking for any sign of tooth decay or anomaly of the gums or soft tissue. In addition, they will look at how your child’s teeth come together to assess any orthodontic needs. X-rays may also be indicated so that they can evaluate the surfaces between the teeth and below the gums that they cannot see clinically.
During your child’s appointment, time will be spent discussing oral hygiene and diet. These topics are an important part of understanding your child and their dental needs. We aim to answer questions regarding these topics as well as provide tips for brushing and flossing at home.
Infant Dentistry
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends infants see the dentist at the first sign of their first tooth coming into the mouth or by their first birthday—whichever comes first. These appointments with your little one are so special because it allows for education and prevention. Most cleanings and exams for infants and toddlers under 3 are done in the knee-to-knee position with Dr. Beth or Dr. Erik where your child will have their teeth brushed, examined and fluoride applied in a thorough but efficient manner. Dr. Beth and Dr. Erik also take the time to provide hygiene tips, discuss diet, and answer any of your questions regarding your little one.
Special Needs Dentistry
We strive to provide comprehensive care to patients with special healthcare needs. As pediatric dentists, Dr. Beth and Dr. Erik received additional training beyond their dental school training specific to the unique needs of special healthcare needs patients. This training includes the ability to provide adaptive measures during exams and treatment, awareness to each patient’s unique needs, as well as the skill to accommodate varying sensory and behavioral needs. Our ultimate goal is to create a dental home for special healthcare needs patients that creates trust, comfort, and support.
